How to Download Your Cloud Bill

For AWS Users

Step 1: Enable Cost and Usage Reports (One-time Setup)

  1. Sign in to AWS Console
  2. Go to Billing and Cost ManagementData ExportsCost and Usage Reports
  3. If you don’t have a report yet:
    • Click “Create report”
    • Enter report name (e.g., “monthly-bill”)
    • Check “Include resource IDs” (optional but helpful)
    • Select an S3 bucket for storage (create one if needed)
    • Choose CSV format
    • Click Create
    • ⚠️ First report takes 24 hours to generate

Step 2: Download Your Bill

  1. Go to S3 Console
  2. Navigate to your billing bucket
  3. Find folder: [report-name]/[date-range]/
  4. Download the .csv.gz file (compressed CSV)
  5. Extract the .gz file to get the CSV
  6. Upload the CSV to this tool

Quick Alternative (Simplified Format):

  1. Go to Billing ConsoleBills → Select month
  2. Click “Download CSV” button
  3. Upload the CSV here

For GCP Users

Download from Cost Table:

  1. Sign in to Google Cloud Console
  2. Go to Billing → Select your billing account
  3. Click “Cost Table” in the left menu
  4. Set your time range (must be after Jan 1, 2022 for CSV export)
  5. Apply any filters if needed (Project, Service, etc.)
  6. Click the download icon (↓) in the top right
  7. Select “CSV”
  8. The file downloads directly to your browser
  9. Upload the CSV here

Note: The old file export to Cloud Storage is deprecated. Use Cost Table download instead.

For Azure Users

Method 1: Quick Download (Recommended)

  1. Sign in to Azure Portal
  2. Search for “Cost Management + Billing”
  3. Go to “Usage + charges”
  4. Select the month you want to analyze
  5. Click “Download” button
  6. Choose “Cost and usage details (actual)”
  7. Click “Prepare document” (takes a few minutes)
  8. Click “Download csv” when ready
  9. Upload the CSV here

Method 2: Scheduled Exports (For Regular Analysis)

  1. Navigate to “Cost Management”“Exports”
  2. Click "+ Add" to create new export
  3. Configure:
    • Export type: “Cost and usage details (actual)”
    • Frequency: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly
    • Storage account: Select or create one
    • Container and folder path
    • Format: CSV
  4. Click “Create”
  5. Wait for next scheduled export
  6. Download from Azure Storage Explorer or Portal

Supported File Formats

  • CSV (Recommended) - Standard comma-separated values
  • TXT - Text files with comma or tab separation
  • Compressed files - Extract .gz files before uploading
  • Max file size: 10MB
